» What They Say
3345 Titanium Long Pivot Ball - Long Arm Conversion

SKU: 3345

Calandra Racing Releases the Titanium "Long Ball" for the Pro-Strut Front End

New for CRC's Pro Strut front end is the is new long arm/long ball conversion. The "long ball" increases the length of the upper arm and therefore altering the roll center of the suspension. This changes the feel and reaction of the chassis to the track. Many drivers say the long arm front end feels more "round" and less aggressive in the center of the corner. In any case, much like different springs, camber/caster angles or damping fluid, the long arm is a tuning tool you can use to change the way the front end reacts. With the Pro Strut being the most adjustable and adaptable front end on the market, the long arm conversion only adds to the plethora of tuning options available.

Jeff Dayger and Paul Ciccarello used the Long Ball to qualify 1-2 at the 2007 Halloween Classic. Aaron Buran received his Gen X just a few days before the event. He also used the long ball to win the 19 turn class with his new Generation X.

A word of caution, the long arm/ball requires the upper A-arm mount to move more inboard. Therefore, when fitting this conversion to the Generation X, you will also need the optional 3277 cross brace that is designed exclusively for the Generation X and has the inner upper A-arm mount positions. When fitting this long arm/long ball conversion to a different type of car that is using CRC's Pro Strut, chances are that the 3277 will not fit the chassis. We will eventually be making a 2-piece mount that will fit any chassis using the Pro Strut, but for now you can use a 3277 by cutting the center cross-brace section out with a rotary tool.
