Horizon Support has recently received several reports of customers experiencing range issues with Electrix RC transmitters. Specifically, customers have reported that their operating range is under performing. Horizon Support has tested a sampling of current production and determined some recently manufactured units were incorrectly calibrated, resulting in low output.

If you have consumers experiencing this issue, please have them contact Horizon Hobby Product Support at 877-504-0233 to help them resolve their issue.

If you have stock on hand please choose from the following options:

o Test existing transmitters using the following method:

1. Place your vehicle with the front wheels facing toward the direction you'll be walking, in an open area free of obvious interference (e.g. known underground power or communication lines, power transformers).

2. Extend the transmitter antenna fully (extension of the vehicle antenna is not required) and turn on the transmitter then the vehicle.

3. Hold the transmitter at arm's length; face the vehicle (This helps with consistency)

4. Walk away from the vehicle while turning the wheels left to right and watching the wheel movement for a loss of signal.

Minimum acceptable range:

Vehicle antenna not extended: 25 feet/7.5m (approx. 9 paces)

Vehicle antenna extended: Minimum acceptable range: 100 feet/30.5m (approx. 34 paces)

o Contact Horizon Hobby Customer Support to arrange for replacement transmitters to be sent and exchanged for current stock. (Replacements should be available shortly).

o Contact Horizon Hobby Customer Support to arrange for a return and reorder of updated stock.
